Time passes in a blink and sometimes we rush through life without really savouring the moments and knowing people.
People I meet at work, sometimes we would share portions of our life other than work. Talks, nit bits of family, friends, jokes and life in general, this brings people closer to become being friends.
I had the oppuntunity to work for my former boss, Rick. He's a good & supportive boss.
The work I did was interesting, it gave me a lot of insight into the company's businesses worldwide. Also had the chance to hear how he negiotiates with his business, so it was really a good work experience.
When I was working for him, I was also doing my course, it got tiring going for classes and doing assignements and was hard to concentrate at work.
But he continued to chase me to go off earlier for my course. I'm glad he did, else I would be thinner than a reed by now ...
Right about a few months into the job, he got remarried. I am happy for his union with Mary. When he mentions her, there was always this smiling glow. Which I had interpreted as affection. I'm rather glad that they found each other.
Maybe he's the same age as my mom, he's more fatherly in the sense. Kinda feel like a daughter around him.
Most of my life, it was hard to share problems, I think mainly was the way I was brought up, maybe thinking that self thinking and working out the problems were the only ways.. but I was glad that Rick was supportive when I had some difficult problems to brainstorm and talk it out..
Every so often, his wife, Mary, would make cookies for him and he would give me some. I would certainly miss the effort going into making the cookies and eating cookies, premix or not.
Now that they are flying back to their hometown tommorrow morning, I would certainly miss them and a lot.
